National Indigenous History Month – Deacon Rennie Nahanee

June is National Indigenous History Month in Canada, a time to recognize the rich history, heritage, resilience and diversity of First Nations, Inuit and Métis.

Deacon Rennie Nahanee is an elder from the Squamish (Skwxwú7mesh) Nation, graduated from St. Mark’s College with a Diploma in Pastoral Studies 2015, and currently working at St. Paul’s Squamish Nation Church in North Vancouver. Deacon Nahanee shares what Indigenous History Month means to him.

Corpus Christi-St. Mark’s is on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Musqueam (xʷməθkʷəy̓əm) People.
