The Library Assistant is responsible for assisting the librarian with circulation duties (checking the status of books, registering and checking patron cards, shelving and checking books on the shelves), collection development, and special projects.

The Dr. John Micallef Memorial Library occasionally looks for Library Technician students or grads, or MLIS students or grads, wanting to gain professional work experience. We provide training in the following areas: circulation duties and using OCLC ILS system; professional research skills, including how to skillfully discriminate and select key resources and help patrons access databases, online resources, journals and books.
Volunteers are required to commit to two – 2 hour shifts per week. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact the Library Director
