Message from Dr. Lynda Robitaille, Dean of Theology : Senate Alumni Position Available

To all St. Mark’s College graduate alumni:

I am writing to you because you are an alumnus/a of St. Mark’s College’s graduate programs. You may recall that Bertilla Watanabe previously held the Alumni Representative position on Senate, serving after Susan Sousa. That term has ended and we now need to update our membership on Senate.

Senate is the academic governing body for St. Mark’s College and plays a very important role in the life of the College. Responsibilities include academic oversight and educational policy development. Members of Senate include students, faculty, staff, board members, alumni and other community members.

I ask you to consider putting your name forward as the Alumni Representative member of Senate for a two-year term (academic years 2019-2020 and 2020-2021).

The Alumni Representative ensures that alumni voices are represented throughout the College , both in the development of academic programs and the introduction of policies.
Alumni are able to offer a unique perspective with insights from community experiences post-graduation and initiatives outside of university education. As a member of Senate you can contribute to the success of the College.

Senate meeting dates for the 2019-2020 academic year have been set for the following Wednesdays, from 4:00 – 5:30 pm:

  •     September 25
  •     October 30
  •     November 27
  •     December – no meeting
  •     January 8
  •     February 26
  •     March – no meeting
  •     April 1
  •     May 6
  •     June 10

Please contact me at [email protected] if you are interested.
If I hear from a number of people, we will hold an election. I look forward to hearing from you soon about your willingness to serve on Senate.

Lynda Robitaille, JCD
Dean of Theology
