St. Mark’s College is pleased to announce the recipients of the Formation for Lay Ministry Scholarship.
This new scholarship supports the integral and important work of local lay ministry leaders within the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Vancouver (RCAV). Through coursework, these ministry leaders will cultivate essential theological and pastoral skills for faithful and effective ministry in an increasingly complex and diverse world.
Eleven scholarships were awarded to laypeople serving in Catholic Christian Outreach, Couples for Christ, healing ministry, parish renewal, RCIA, women’s ministry, youth ministry, and other ministries.
These individuals serve communities in parishes and organizations across the Lower Mainland, including All Saints Parish (Coquitlam), Holy Cross Parish (Burnaby), Simon Fraser University, St. Edmund’s Parish (North Vancouver), St. Joseph’s Parish (Langley), St. Matthew’s Parish (Vancouver), St. Matthew’s Parish (Surrey), St. Mary’s Parish (Vancouver), St. Nicholas Parish (Langley), and the University of British Columbia.
Please join us in congratulating the following recipients:
Nine of these recipients have already begun their coursework in the Winter 2022 term, which started in January. We wish them the best as they embark on this exciting new journey at St. Mark’s College, and we look forward to welcoming other scholarship winners to our community later this academic year.
Initial funding for this scholarship came from the Pathways for Tomorrow Initiative funded by the Lilly Foundation, to prepare and support pastoral leaders for Christian churches. For more information, visit the Lilly Endowment's Pathways for Tomorrow Initiative webpage.
