Now Accepting Nominations for the 2022 Honorary Doctorate Degree at St. Mark’s College

St. Mark’s College at UBC is now accepting nominations for the honorary degree Doctor of Sacred Letters, honoris causa, to be awarded at the 2022 Convocation ceremony.
The honorary doctorate degree is the highest honour within the power of St. Mark’s College, and the selection of candidates for such a degree reflects the College’s highest aspirations and ideals. This honour will be awarded to an individual in recognition of their distinguished and visionary leadership and achievements consistent with St. Mark College’s core values, mission, and goals. Individuals nominated should exemplify the highest personal and professional standards that serve as an inspiration and model for students, faculty, staff, and the broader Catholic community of the Archdiocese of Vancouver and the Province of British Columbia.
Recipients may be eminent researchers, scholars, professionals, philanthropists, creative artists, community leaders or social activists of regional, national or global renown. The most recent recipients, who will be awarded this honour at the 2021 Convocation ceremony on September 11, 2021, are Dr. Angus Reid and Dr. Paul Burns.
Nominations should be in writing and include a rationale of how the nominee exemplifies the goals and values of the College. Nominations must be submitted to the Office of the Principal, St. Mark’s College before Wednesday, October 20, 2021.
