Flexible and Affordable Option for Faith Enrichment
St. Mark’s College now offers a Continuing Education Certificate in Theology (CECT), catering to individuals seeking robust, flexible, and cost-effective formation to enrich their faith and ministry.
Tailored for lay ministers, leaders, and other students, the CECT offers an opportunity to delve into theological studies, enhancing one’s understanding and practice of ministry. Unlike traditional Graduate Certificate programs, that have specific educational and course workload requirements with multiple assignments, the CECT provides a more accessible path, with lower financial investment and flexible study options.
Participants will engage actively with course content and receive personalized feedback from instructors. The program fosters a vibrant community of learners, facilitating interaction among individuals pursuing various educational paths.
The CECT curriculum includes required foundational courses and elective options, allowing flexibility in course selection. Upon completion of 5 classes, including required courses like Foundations of Theology and Introduction to Scripture, participants will be granted a CECT at the Convocation ceremony.
Courses are offered online via Zoom, enabling accessibility for adult learners while maintaining real-time interaction with instructors and peers. Additionally, students can partake in in-person classes during the Summer Institute.
St. Mark’s College, an affiliated theological institution at UBC, stands as a beacon of Catholic higher education in British Columbia, with accreditation from the Association of Theological Schools. The College’s commitment to forming ministers and leaders is underscored by its partnership with the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Vancouver and the Catholic Independent Schools.
For those interested in enriching their faith and ministry through the CECT contact Dr. Lynda Robitaille at St. Mark’s College via email at [email protected] or by phone at 604-822-6862 Ext. 129.
