This virtual event features Ann Pollock, an acclaimed art curator known for her innovative and creative work, and Josh Denny-Keys, a sound healing practitioner whose expertise in therapeutic soundscapes brings comfort and resilience to patients and healthcare workers alike. Together, they’ll share powerful stories and research insights on how art can enhance patient wellbeing, reduce stress, and foster a compassionate healing environment.

About the speakers
Opening remarks by The Most Reverend J. Michael Miller, CSB, Archbishop of Vancouver
Ann Pollock
Curator, Writer, Producer, University Faculty Member, Thompson Rivers University
Ann has curated many contemporary art, historical, interdisciplinary, photography, and film
exhibitions, publications, events, and festivals, with accompanying publications. She is an art
consultant to the City of Vancouver, where she has been responsible for several public art projects,
including The Collective Agency Project and film – a project where a group of seniors experienced the
ability of art to empower and transform.
Joshua Denny-Keys, MTA, BMT, BMus
Music Therapy Professional Practice Leader, Providence Health Care
Joshua is a certified music therapist with a person-centered approach to palliative care. He uses the
piano, guitar, and/or his voice to bring patients comfort, connection, and meaning through music.
With a calm and gentle approach to care, he is able to create a safe therapeutic space for those he
works with, bringing peace and solace to people as they near the end of life. Joshua also works at
the Vancouver Hospice Society and the Dr. Peter Centre.
