Born and raised in Vancouver, Rev. Dr. Mark Hagemoen completed his undergraduate degree (Bachelor of Arts) at the University of British Columbia.  Following this, he travelled throughout Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Europe for a year, before entering St. Peter’s Seminary in London, Ontario.  He completed his Masters of Divinity degree in 1990.

 

Fr. Mark was ordained in Vancouver by Bishop Lawrence Sabatini in May 1990. He completed the National Certificate in Youth Ministry Studies and the Diploma for Advanced Studies in Ministry in 1997.  He completed a Doctor of Ministry program at Trinity Western University in 2007.  In December that same year, Rev. Dr. Hagemoen was honoured by Pope Benedict XVI, who recognized him as a “Prelate of Honour”, with the title Monsignor, for his work in the Archdiocese of Vancouver.

 

Prior to his appointment to St. Mark’s and Corpus Christi Colleges, Rev. Dr. Hagemoen was Vicar of Pastoral Services and Moderator of the Curia for the Archdiocese of Vancouver. He continues to serve on a number of church and school boards and committees, including the College of Consultors and the Archdiocesan Pastoral Council. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Center for Ministry Development, Vancouver College (of which he is also an alumnus), and Little Flower Academy High School.
