Shawn joined Saint Mark’s Theological College in 2012. He has also taught at the University of Toronto, taught for diaconate programs in two different dioceses, continuing education courses for the University of St. Michael’s College and offered various public lectures. Shawn has published and forthcoming articles in academic journals such as: Catholic Biblical Quarterly, Biblica, as well as Theoforum, and Irish Theological Quarterly. He specializes in the Old Testament/Hebrew Bible and its relationship to its ancient world and supports this study with training in Egyptology and Assyriology. He is currently working on constructions of divinity in ancient Israel and is beginning work on the lives of children in the Old Testament. Shawn is also a lay Dominican, born in British Columbia, and lives in Vancouver with his wife Kaitlin and their three children under six.
