Johnny is currently the principal of St. Patrick Regional Secondary School in Vancouver. He has been an educator in the Catholic Independent Schools of the Vancouver Archdiocese for 17 years, 12 as an administrator. As a high school principal, Johnny is committed to the ongoing development of collaborative learning systems and how schools need to increasingly become engaging and relevant for students. He is also interested in understanding schools as learning organizations and how change can be initiated within them. Johnny believes that Catholic schools are uniquely positioned to have students develop spiritually, academically, physically, emotionally and creatively. As a learner, he is dedicated to learning about emerging and proven teaching practices (pedagogy) that honours the "uniqueness and giftedness" of each child.He embraces technology as more than just a gimmick, but rather as a tool that enhances learning and pedagogy. Johnny believes that living and learning in a faith community is "life giving" and that relationships matter. He cherishes "An Ethos of Us" in schools. Johnny was recently a featured speaker in two BC Ministry of Education videos Learning Empowered by Technologyand Personalized Learning, Flexibility & Choice.
