StudentAid BC + Canada Student Loans

Part-time Students

Part-time Canadian students requiring financial assistance may apply for a Part-Time Canada Student Loan. If you are a BC resident, you would apply to StudentAid BC.

These interest-bearing loans are calculated on the basis of the student’s financial situation and cover basic university expenses such as tuition, books, and childcare.

Paying Back Your part-time student loan

Repayments of these loans begin thirty (30) days from the date on which the loan was disbursed.

Course Withdrawal

Students who, after applying for a student loan, change their course load, should contact an academic advisor prior to withdrawing from these courses. Changes to your course load may disqualify you from funding and/or result in overawards.

If you are taking courses at another institution to supplement your courses at St. Mark’s College, you must notify the Financial Aid Officer. Failure to notify the Financial Aid Officer of your entire course load can negatively impact your funding.

Fr. Zsigmond Scholarship


In memory of Father Albert Zsigmond (1919-1991), St. Mark’s Parish sponsors scholarships for programs leading to a Master’s degree offered by St. Mark’s College.


Father Zsigmond came to Vancouver from Hungary in 1950 and welcomed many Hungarian refugees after the uprising in 1958.  In 1967 he organized the Parish of St. Ignatius of Antioch, now St. Mark's Parish.  For 23 years he celebrated Mass for the Parish on Sunday in the Church owned by St Anselm’s Anglican Parish on the University Endowment Lands. His spiritual direction and homilies drew a large following from Greater Vancouver. A Scripture scholar, he taught for many years at the Vancouver School of Theology.


Three Father Zsigmond Scholarships of $1,000.00 (tuition) will be available for all St. Mark’s College graduate degree students.

This $1000 will be used as a tuition remission for the academic year.


Interested applicants must submit the following:

1.     Letter of intention – application for the scholarship

This letter should describe the reason you are applying for the scholarship and your future goals in regards to the degree program you are working towards.

2.     Letter of recommendation from your school Principal or your Pastor.

Note: Students who have received this scholarship within the last two years are ineligible for the scholarship for the current year.

The deadline for 2018-2019 applications will be announced by the Office of the Registrar. The deadline for the 2017-2018 academic year has passed.
